New Desk!
I had been looking for several months for a new desk to replace the monster that was in the corner of the kitchen. We went to a large flea/antique mall in Lexington and was able to find this one. It is beautiful and is solid oak.  Very pleased with how it looks and it does take up less space than the other one.

The Flowers are Growing

The weather must be perfect for growing flowers, Mine have really started to grow and bloom already this spring.

Pink salvia, and some left over cilantro that came back up. Fresh rosemary as well.

We have divided lilies and have placed them around the house. They have been beautiful this spring.

Girls on the Run 5K

Last Saturday, May 12 I was involved in that Girls on the Run 5K at Paul Brown Stadium. We had practiced and ran and worked with the 5th grade girls from Dry Ridge Elementary.
This  was not my first 5K, but it was my 1st to run. That is saying a lot. Finishing time- 39:40. I was able to run most of the 1st mile without stopping. For me that was an accomplishment.

Most of the team, I am the short one in the back.

My partner and I heading for the finish line, hand in hand.

Shannon, Dehner who were both coaches, and myself. Just a running buddy.

My number was 664, was not to happy about the 6's but it could have been worse. I could have checked in 2 people later, I don't know if I would have even ran.

A Wonderful Mother's Day 2012

I have had a wonderful Mother's Day. It started on Thursday with Gary helping get the flowers for the yard. He helped get the beds ready and I started planting on Friday. Tiff and Josh had flowers delivered to me at school. A nice surprise.

Beautiful flowers that were delivered to school on Friday from Tiff and Josh
Sunday morning, I got to speak with Krystal and Brad in South Asia, the blessings of technology.
Homemade Blueberry Muffins from Krystal's recipe, delicious

Shell and I decided to surprise Mom by coming up to go to church with her and Dad for Mother's Day.

The clematis  is beautiful right now.

Gary moved some of the  lilies around the house.

Flowers planted, let's see how they grow this summer.

What Did you do Over Spring Break?

Spring Break 2012
I did several things over Spring Break this year.
On Monday, my friends and I went on a road trip to Bloomington and Nashville, Indiana for the day.

This the Greek restaurant that we ate at for lunch. Delicious food and with a really interesting door.
The Ambrosia was amazing.

Candy, Jo, and Shannon in Bloomington.

Candy showed us around IU's beautiful campus.

In Nashville, we saw many interesting shops.

We tried on hats. Looks like we are ready for the Derby.

Tuesday through Friday, Gary and I went camping at Big Bone Lick State Park.
OnWednesday, we went to the Newport Aquarium.

On Friday, we came home and later that day my brother-in-law Tim and my sister, Michele came to see me on their new toy. They also had to get the new clothes to go with it.

Aren't they cute in their chaps and jackets. Really nice bike.  I guess I am the only one of the brothers and sisters without a motorcycle.

Overall,  a very nice Spring Break.

Queen of the House and Babysitting

My cat's name is Noisy and she has recently been nicknamed the Queen of the house. You can sit many places when you are the Queen. These are just a few. The one I can't get a picture of is when she is in my lap.  She is afraid of storms and wants to be held.
When you are the Queen of the House you have your own recliner. It also matches your hair color so no one is the wiser
You have your own chair in the kitchen just to keep a watch on everything.

You have secret private places to sit as well.

You sit at the head of the table to make sure no one forgets to feed you.

You can supervise your kingdom from the window.

You have a large bed to sleep on, (when no one is home)

You also have comfy place on the love seat just incase you need another place to sit.
Baby sitting - It is spring and the calves are being born. This is a picture of one Momma, she is the large black one laying down on the right side of the picture. She is baby sitting 20 calves while the rest of the mothers are off grazing on the other hills. It is always neat to see. When Krystal and Tiff were little they were always amazed that one Momma would babysit.
